Effingham, Great Ridings and Little Bookham.
I woke up this morning with a smile and a good feeling, and thinking what a privilege it had been to be able to walk in the Effinghan Junction woods, following the deeply rutted soggy soaking mud filled water filled boggy sub terrain ‘had been’ footpaths on yesterday’s almost freezing cold foggy damp morning. How good to arrive at the cosy pub and then to eventually see the sun struggling through the grey whilst we crossed a water logged field that surely was at least a mile? Then onto E.Junc.Station car park where an alert member should 8 minutes for the ...... ...then immediately yelled 1 minute for the train; ....we all flew over bridge and down the stairs as the London Waterloo train glided into the station!
A great walk, so very glad I didn’t miss it, thank you Frances and Linda for the January 2022 walk.
Cheers!

Unless we have a hard frost soon this will be quite a muddy walk, especially in the morning. Nevertheless this is a pleasant gentle walk through woodland and open common and with two churches to visit.
