Afternoon (4.5 miles) eastwards along the valley of the Sussex Ouse then northwards back to Balcombe.
The walk is undemanding

Lunch:

Lunch: The Victory Inn at Stapleford with a very good range of pub food. They also do roasts ( beef, pork, lamb and vegan) on Sundays. Please let Martin (peachmartin83@aol.com) have your choices from the accompanying menu by Thursday 17th.

Notes:

The walk is not demanding but the High Weald is a most attractive area. Heavily wooded and with its sandstone ridges cut into by deep valleys, its essential character was established by the 14th century and it is considered to be one of the best surviving coherent medieval landscapes of Northern Europe
