Lea Valley
This was a walk of alarms and diversions
There was a challenge for all to geet to the starting point as The Victoria line was suspended for 45 minutes mid journey. Congratualtions to all walkers (12 in number) who managed to get to Tottenham Hale by various means only a bit late
Cheered by this sucess we set off to find the start amongst the road works and building sites
All went well until the pathwas closed for furtehr building works requiring some rerouting
Lunch was at the breakfast club Newham which prooved to be remarkably good and thus fortified we march onwards to Stratford and the Olympic park. This is always a challenge but was managed with group input and we walked bravely on to Limehouse approached in the evening sunset and a safe journey home
Out: train Liverpool Street 9.40 or 9.42, arrives
Tottenham Hale 9.50, 9.55. Or Victoria Line, 19 mins from Victoria Station. Return the tubes of East London. Return: DLR from Limehouse
From Tottenham Hale Station we will pick up the Lea Valley Walk and pass Walthamstow and Hackney Marshes which are both Nature reserves. Past Three Mills then we will then go into the Olympic park where I hope we can find lunch. We will then continue on the Lea Valley walk to Limehouse basin where we can get the DLR to return home.
