The walk with the floods
Many thanks to Jo for an eventful walk! Starting out with central line down but an exciting introduction to the Elizabeth line
Moving on to one gentle fall, Nicola, one boot sole detachment, Joy, and then paths completely flooded.But we found an alternative route and avoided the impending thunderstorm. Beautiful area, thanks Jo for finding it. Margaret M
Out: Elizabeth Line to Harold Wood station.
Return: Two mainline trains an hour from Rainham to Fenchurch Street station which is a short walk to Tower Hill underground station on the District Line.
Harold Wood Park, Pages Wood - with several works of art created by chain saw sculptor Simon O’Rourke, Ingrebourne Valley, marshes, wetlands & Ingrebourne Hill to Rainham (zone 6 )
Lunch: The Windmill pub at Upminster Bridge - no need to pre book food.
For those that want to leave at lunch (4 miles) they can return from Upminster Bridge station on the District Line.
Mainly walking on tracks, tarmac, cycle paths, & footpaths. It could be very muddy in sections if it has been raining. Suggest you wear boots or walking shoes.
