Outward Travel: Charing Cross 8.25 am Waterloo East 8.28 am Platform C) London Bridge 8.34 am. Return from TONBRIDGE 21 minutes and 50 minutes past the hour. Loos open at stations.

Route: 

This linear walk is partly on the Tunbridge Wells Circular Walk through High Wood, panoramic views as far as BedgeburyForest, Pembury Village Green for a 10 minute break (please bring your own flask), Forest Wood, St Thomas a Becket Church at Capel, built in the Norman era and has 13th Century wall paintings and a yew tree under which Becket himself is supposed to have preached. In the afternoon the walk continues to TudeleyChurch, the local church for the nearby estate of Somerhill, occupied from 1849 by the Jewish Goldsmid family. The family commissioned the stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall (1887-1985) in memory of their daughter, aged 21, who drowned in a sailing accident in 1963. Continue straight through a meadow, under oak trees and past a lake, along on the pavement towards Tonbridge station

Notes: 

Beautiful and breath-taking views over the Weald of Kent, quiet lanes, footpaths, gradients are gentle, a few well maintained stiles, some muddy patches, generally easy walking. But walking sticks are advisable. Please be alert and take great care as we cross roads, a roundabout and traffic islands near the stations at the start and end of the walk.
