Welcome

We are a group who enjoy the camaraderie of walking and the shared experience of exploring the rich country in and around London. We walk three times a month. The main walk is on the third w/e of the month-saturday Jan to June and sunday July to December. This is a reccied walk usually with a pub lunch. We also walk the first Friday of the month . This is an unreccied walk with access via train. And we just have started « Slow Lane Walks » on the 2 nd Wednesday of the month. A shorter, slower walk based on a place of interest for members who are walking more slowly and cannot manage the distances of the regular walks.

Most of our walks are within an hours traveling distance of Central London but can be further in the summer months and once a year we arrange an away weekend. New comers are always welcome.

7 of us left Moor park station and its grand houses to walk around and across green aand opulent golf courses, budding spring tress noisy birds, horse occupied filleds- alas the horses did not leave their territory user friendly , but very churned making for difficult walking- along to Hatch End and a delightful Weartherspoon pub lunch.

11 of us met in the church car park after a little tension as to whether Church Hill was a road or track. Alas 2 members were unble to sort out this conumdrum and never arrived. Fortified with coffee kindly left for us in the church porch- very classy- we set off at a good pace to experience the ups and downs of the Chilterns.

7 0f us met successfully at Stratford station ticket office and set off to explore this rapidly changing area. For most of us it was a repeat visit with memories of the 2012 Olympics or previous walks in the area when completing the Lea valley walk prompting lots of memories.
