The village recreation ground car park opposite Checkendon Primary School and Church. Post Code RG8 0SR.

Travel: 

by car to J8 M4 onto A404 then A4130 to Henley. Stay on the A4130 through Henley and continue for about 4 miles through Nettlebed and just over 1 mile further on turn left towards Nuffield – keep straight on and follow the signs to Stoke Row and Checkendon turning right signposted Checkendon just before entering Stoke Row. Continue for just under a mile into Checkendon. Journey time approx. 75 mins

Route: 

A generally flat walk but very muddy in places – poles advised - through lovely quiet countryside and ancient beech woods including points of interest:
o In an area of outstanding natural beauty.
o 12th Century Church of St Peter and St Paul, Checkendon.
o Wyfold Court – a huge exceptional gothic pile.
o The Maharaja’s Well.
o Victorian St John the Evangelist Church Stoke Row.
o Tudor Mansions
o Lunch at Kate Winslet’s local.

Lunch:
