Richmond Park
It was a beautiful cold and frosty morning that 7 of us set off across Richmond Park with heads high and a brisk walking manner until arriving at the pub 3 hrs later- mood maintained - for a jolly lunch and the chance to exchange new year greetings and to swap news with Jane - Emeritus leader- who guided us through the early years of the group, for which we shall be forever grtaeful
By car to Sheen Gate, free car parking on roads around Sheen Gate or in Sheen Gate Car park
Or South West Train from Clapham Junction to Mortlake leaves Clapham Junction 9.40 arrives Mortlake 9.54
Or from Richmond to Mortlake leaves Richmond 9.49 arrives Mortlake 9.53
One of us will meet the trains and walk up to Sheen Gate for 10.30 start.
The walk will be muddy in places, two steep hills. Toilets at Sheen Gate and Isabella Plantation.

We leave the park at Bog Gate and walk through Sheen Common to lunch at
The Plough, Christchurch Road, East Sheen, SW14 7AJane Lawrence, our leader for many years before handing over to Margaret, will join us for lunch.
Muddy boots and dogs allowed in pub.
We do not have plans to lead a walk after lunch. It’s a 10 minute walk back to Sheen Gate and 15 minute walk back to the station.
