Medway Path 2

Richard and Jane Pask, Jane Cook, Jo, Norma, Andy and I had a really gorgeous day walking from Wateringbury Station to Aylesford along the Medway Valley Walk on 2nd October. We had cloudless skies, beautiful warm autumn light, and the scenery was so lovely, more interesting and varied than the first half a month ago. Little hills, woods, distant views, lovely old, and often magnificent buildings; a nerve-tingling railway level crossing without barriers; an exciting walk over a bridge looking down on the M20; a big and cheap pub in Maidstone (converted from a NatWest bank) to which we were directed by a friendly policeman on a bicycle who actually stopped and asked if we were looking for somewhere.
