Walthamstow and William Morris Gallery.
Travel: Outward. Walthamstow Central is the last stop on the Victoria Line. If using the Piccadilly Line it is easier to change at Finsbury Park rather than at Victoria. It is also on National Rail from Liverpool Street Station on the Chingford Line.
Return from Walthamstow Central or 123 Bus to Blackhorse Road station.
We will walk from Walthamstow Central station to Lloyd Park where we will stop for a coffee. We can walk around the small park and then go to the William Morris Gallery which is a museum devoted to the life and works of William Morris, an English Arts and Crafts designer and early socialist. Apart from the permanent collection there is a temporary exhibition on the influence of Islamic art on William Morris. It is free to visit. If we want to join it there is a curator lead tour of the exhibition at 2pm.
Lunch: Deeney’s Cafe at William Morris Gallery. They are famous for their toasties
